How we collect, use and look after your personal information when you shop with us. Plain language, no surprises.
This policy explains what personal information Lucky and the Bravery collects when you use luckyandthebravery.co.za, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
Lucky and the Bravery is a South African wine label. You can reach us at wine@luckyandthebravery.co.za or on 071 349 1773.
What we collect
- When you place an order: your name, delivery address, email address, phone number and the details of what you bought. We need these to fulfil and deliver your order and to send you order updates.
- When you pay: your payment is processed by Peach Payments. Your card details go directly to Peach Payments and are never stored on our website. We only receive confirmation that the payment succeeded.
- When you contact us: the details you give us in the contact form, so that we can reply.
- When you create an account: your login details and order history, so that you can check past orders and reorder quickly.
- Automatically: basic technical information such as your browser type and pages visited, through cookies and our web server logs. We use this to keep the site working and secure.
Age
Wine may not be sold to anyone under the age of 18. By ordering you confirm that you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed to run the shop: your delivery details with our courier, your payment with Peach Payments, and order information with the service providers that host our website and send our emails. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for other companies’ marketing.
Cookies
We use cookies to remember what is in your cart, to keep you logged in if you have an account, to remember that you confirmed your age, and to help us understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout will not work without them.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes, currently five years. Contact form messages are deleted once your query is resolved. Account information is kept until you ask us to close the account.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You may also object to us using your information for marketing at any time. Email wine@luckyandthebravery.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Changes
If we change this policy we will publish the new version on this page with the date it took effect. This version applies from September 2026.
